There is a look to tintype photographs that can’t be replicated by other means, a depth to the image that you see when you hold them in your hand, the silver floats in the emulsion and looks three dimensional. It’s a slow, finicky undertaking, certainly by todays standards, taking 15 to 20 minutes to prepare, expose and process a single photograph…..my iPhone just scoffed at the thought!
